What type of equipment do you use?

We are Canon and Nikon shooters. We shoot with Canon and Nikon's top of the line bodies and lenses. Some of our favorite lenses include: the 70-200 f2.8L USM Lens, the 50mm f1.2L USM Lens, the 100mm f2.8L Macro USM Lens, and the 35mm f/1.4L USM Lens. 

Do you shoot with film cameras as well?

Yes, we shoot film weddings through Be Light Fine Art Photography. We love the look you can achieve by shooting with film! We shoot with medium format Contax 645 cameras and Canon 1V 35mm cameras. We primarily shoot with Fuji Pro 400 films and black and whites. When contacting us, let us know your interested in film photography and we would love to get you more information. 

We love the photos on your site, but can we see a full wedding gallery?

Absolutely! Just send us an email and we would love to send you some example galleries!

How many photographers will I have on my wedding day?

All of our packages come with at least 2 photographers. Katie, Stefanie, Hannah, and Madison are the four lead photographers for Be Light Photography, and one of us will be your lead photographer on your big day! Though a second photographer is not necessary, we love having another set of hands available on your big day to help us capture it and make your day run as smooth as possible!

Where is Be Light Photography based out of? Do you travel?

We are based out of Birmingham, however, we LOVE to travel! Since Katie is originally from Atlanta we shoot weddings there all the time as well. We photograph weddings all over the country each year, and we travel world-wide. Destination weddings are our favorite! Please just inquire with specifics on your location and we would be more than happy to come up with a custom package for you!

How many photos do I get after my wedding?

Our client galleries typically range from 600-1200 images. The number of images in each gallery varies depending on the number of hours we shoot, the number of locations, and number of shooters at your big day! Each photo in your gallery will be professionally edited prior to entering your gallery.

Do you need a vendor meal?

Yes, we typically eat when the bride and groom are eating. We don’t want to miss even one moment of our couples big day, so having a meal ready to eat while the bride and groom eat is always greatly appreciated!

When do we make our wedding day timeline?

We typically create the wedding day timeline 3 to 4 weeks prior to your wedding day. Instead of doing this months in advance, we find it is best to do it just a couple weeks prior to the wedding day to ensure details are as accurate as possible! We also always put margins in our timelines just in case something such as hair and makeup is running behind. We want your day to be as smooth as possible!

How much do I need to put down when I book you? Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we have two options that you can choose from! You can either put down 50% with your contract and pay the remaining balance two weeks prior to your big day, or you can be on a payment plan and we can break your payments into four separate payments and spread them out. We just require that all balances are paid on the contract date and in full two weeks prior to your wedding day!

We love your work! Now how do we book you?

First let us say thank you for choosing us! We absolutely LOVE our couples and so excited to talk with you more about your big day! Booking with Be Light Photography is simple! Simply fill out the form on our contact section, and we will let you know if we have your date available! If we are available, we will build you a custom contract and send it to you digitally. You will then fill out the contract, and send it in with your retainer. Once we receive both the contract and the retainer, your big day is officially booked! Yay!!!
