Our company was founded in 2014 by, owner, Katie Devaney. Since then our team has grown to 6 lead photographers and two videographers, which allows us to capture multiple wedding days per weekend!

We have captured love stories all over the country and into Europe. We love destination weddings.

meet katie

Katie started Be Light Photography in 2014, and since that day the company has photographed over 500 love stories across the globe. As a published photographer, she specializes in both film and digital photography - with a special place in her heart for the classic look of film. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her Golden Doodle pup, Lola. Finding passion through serving others, her love of traveling, and joy for her Lord and Savior, she has grown Be Light Photography to one of the largest photography companies in the area.

meet jessica

Jessica is a Birmingham, Alabama native and former Samford Bulldog. With a background in advertising, public relations, and business - she doubles as one of our photographers and Operations Coordinator. On any given day you will find her with a cup of coffee, watching Friends, or playing with her Aussie Doodle pup, Rylee. As one of our digital photographers, she specializes in direction and communication to ensure each person behind the camera feels confident. Her biggest compliment from former clients is her ability to create ease and comfort amidst chaos.

Alex is an Emmy award winning videographer in the Birmingham area. Alex specializes in creating stories that are authentic and told through the use of beautiful imagery. He loves capturing the moments of a wedding day that show the intimacy between two people. Alex is available for travel and would love the opportunity to capture your special day.

Meet molly

Molly usually can be found with a coffee in hand and her radio blasting way too loud. She enjoys antiques and restoring pieces back to life. She currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with her most precious treasures- her husband, Evan, and her children, Parker and Huxley and their two dogs. Molly believes in celebrating life and the beauty that can only be found in the beautifully imperfect. Her greatest joy in photography is capturing the big moments but especially the small authentic moments that help make your day all about you. Molly is so grateful for the journey the Lord brought to her through photography and would be so honored to serve you for your special moments.

After a few years of shooting, she finally found her niche in the world of wedding and portrait photography and would not change a thing about the journey that led her to work for Be Light Photography. Stefanie is a free, Jesus lovin’ spirit who adores grainy black and white images and the look of film all too much. On any given day you can find her surfing the web for inspiration, drinking a cold glass of water (with extra lemons) or snuggled up on the couch with her dog, a blanket, and a good book. Stefanie is married to her better half and lives in Birmingham, Alabama. She is available for travel and would be honored to play but even a small part as the two of you become one through the covenant of marriage.

Madison has a special love for photography and longs to capture the in-between moments on a wedding day. She loves filtering in what matters most to you and portraying that love throughout her work and images. She and her husband spend their days with their twins Finn and Mosley and their newest little man, Jep. Madison loves the Lord and finds her rest in Him alone. Her heart is to tell your story - the imperfect perfect that is yours forever, and it would be her biggest honor to be your photographer.

Katie & Stefanie from Be Light Photography are not only incredibly talented and creative photographers, but also kind and generous with their clients.
